"F.O.S." as it is known, is the fundraising plan used by the Minsi Trails Council to generate the financial support necessary to operate the Council for one year. Several separate campaigns make up the F.O.S. plan.

Family Campaign

The Family Campaign generates support from the families of local Scouts. This Campaign has a goal of $149,000, which is raised through a series of presentations led by volunteers and staff. These presentations generally occur during the first three months of each year at Blue and Gold Dinners and Courts of Honor. Contributions to this campaign range in size from $5 to $500. A special Council Shoulder Strip is given for all contributions to the Family Campaign of $85 and above. The shoulder strip is a collector's series that can be worn on the uniform and each year features one of the twelve points of the Scout Law.

Community Campaign

The Community Campaign focuses on securing contributions of approximately $100 from local companies that are "smaller" in nature and do not currently support other Council fundraising campaigns. $60,000 is the goal for this campaign, which utilizes unique volunteer structure, made up of 2 Vice-Chairmen, 9 Area Chairmen, 45 Team Captains, and 225 Enrollees. These volunteers are supported by a member of the Council Staff and are assigned to work within a specific portion of the Council area. Opportunities to volunteer for this program exist, and offer a great way to meet and network with a large number of other community leaders.

Board Campaign

As the name implies, the Board Campaign is designed to secure the financial support of the Council Executive Board and Advisory Committee. This campaign is designed to set the giving example for all other campaigns and has a goal of $44,000. A special recognition plan has been developed to recognize higher levels of giving. The levels are as follows:
  •   Star - $250 - $499 - 9 inch engraved walnut plaque
  •   Life - $500 - $999 - 12 inch engraved walnut plaque
  •   Eagle - $1,000 - $2,499 - 9 inch porcelain eagle
  •   Bronze Eagle - $2,500 - $4,999 - 13 inch porcelain eagle
  •   Golden Eagle - $5,000 - $9,999 - 22 inch porcelain eagle
  •   Silver Eagle - $10,000 and higher - 24 inch porcelain eagle

Major Gifts Campaign

The Major Gifts Campaign is used to identify and secure large first time gifts from companies, as well as organize requests to current contributors to avoid multiple requests. This campaign has a goal of $20,000 for first time contributions. This campaign also provides a great opportunity to promote the positive accomplishments of the Minsi Trails Council, and Scouting, as well as identify top community leaders and prospective Council Board members.
