SPORTS SHOW The Lehigh Valley Hunting and Fishing Extravaganza is inviting all Boy Scouts, Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts and leaders to its premier event August 28, 29, & 30 free of charge, The invitation includes any or all days of the event on the condition that scouts and leaders are in class A uniform tops. Special events and instructors will be there to share their outdoor passions with you. Come out and hone your skills as an outdoorsman and learn from the best outdoorsman in the area.

SCOUT CHALLENGE
There will be a competition comprised of 10 stations requiring skills of all kinds. Participants will receive instruction and a score upon their completion of each activity. At the completion of all 10 stations, participants will turn in their score cards for a completion prize. At the end of the weekend the top three scores will receive prizes totaling $100, $50 and $25 for first to third place finishes.

This year we will also have a Troop Challenge for Boy & Girl Scout troops to compete for cash prizes for their unit. This will be a Pioneering and/or Camp Gadget type competition.
Here are the rules:
--All projects must be made using natural tree timbers, and they must be held together with Cecil rope or twine and may be notched and or dovetailed together.
--These projects can be anything; gateways, bridges, catapults, rafts, chairs, towers, Indian type beds, or any inventive creation they can come up with.
--All entrees can be delivered and set up on the Kempton Fair Grounds Thursday August 27th or Friday August 28th.
--We would like all projects pre-registered via e-mail to Bob Danenhower bobstaxidermy@ptd.net or through the Web Site e-mail system.
At the end of the weekend the top two Projects will receive prizes totaling $50 for First Place and 25.00 for second place

Safari Club is offering two $50.00 Cabela’s bucks’ prizes to the Top Gun Award winner’s Troop. Stop by our booth at The Lehigh Valley Hunting and Fishing Extravaganza on August 28, 29, & 30 and post your best Lazer Shot score during the Scouts competition. Each Top Gun from the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts will win $50.00 for your troop. Each Scout may participate once and will receive a score for the overall competition and be entered in the Top Gun competition. The more scouts from your Troop, the better your odds at winning the prize.
Prize money will be sent to the Troop leader after the competition is over.

Aside from all the great hands on stations that our clubs are operating for all kids and scouts. We will be hand picking 4 stations that all children can participate in. This Event is open to all boys & girls ages 16 and under. Scores will be tallied up after the show. Winners will be announced via. Press release and Prize packs will be mailed to the top 3 scores.

Scouts who participate in the 2010 jamboree are selected by
the more than 300 local councils. Each Scout must
• Be at least a First Class Scout.
• Have completed sixth grade or be at least 12 years of age
by July 1, 2010, and have not reached his 18th birthday by
August 3, 2010.
• Participate in the prejamboree training experience.
• Have filed a Personal Health and Medical Record Form,
Class 3, No. 67-34412, before the prejamboree training.
• Have been active in a troop or team for at least six months
prior to July 1, 2010.
• Be approved by his Scoutmaster or Varsity Scout Coach.
• Be approved by the local council jamboree committee.

Both Saturdays are required for certification. The course is limited to 12 participants. The cost for the course is $225 that covers the following:
NRA Trainers Guide, NRA Rifle Lesson Plans, NRA Basic Rifle Student Packets including full color book, Three Ring Binder. Pre-Registrations are due by September 15th.
