Family Friends of Scouting Campaign

Once again the Family Friends of Scouting campaign has begun and the volunteers are out in force. These volunteers are taking on the task that most dislike – asking people for money. And they are doing it at a time when it is more important than ever for the good of our Scouting program. The Friends of Scouting kickoff was held February 17th to officially mark the campaigns beginning and to acknowledge the many volunteers who are making this campaign happen. This was not the place you would expect to find good investment advice but one of the volunteers provided just that. We know the economy is bad and many people are looking for good places to invest their money. You can put it in the stock market and watch it disappear, you can invest in bonds and watch it do nothing, or you could try real estate and watch it lose its value. But there is one investment that will generate extended dividends, will not disappear, and will not lose its value. Why not invest in our children through the Scouting program. The benefits stay local. How local? For many, just look across the dinner table. And the dividend will continue for the rest of their lives. So if you are looking for a great investment, why not invest in our children? You will not find a greater dividend anywhere.

National Hall Of Leadership

Our communities are better places to live, work, and play because of leadership - expressed in extraordinary acts of service - by Scouts, Scouters, and Scouting volunteers over generations. We want to gather these powerful stories and share the significant positive impact Scouting leadership has on the quality of life in the communities we serve. That’s why the BSA has created the National Hall of Leadership as part of our 100th Anniversary Celebration. http://www.minsitrails.com/Newsletter/documents/Minsie-newsArticleHallofLeadership.doc
